Pulmonary Fibrosis/Spermbloodshit - Split

Sometimes it's really difficult to make a review about split releases. Especially when the bands are very different as in this case. Split between Spermbloodshit and Pulmonary Fibrosis. While Pulmonary Fibrosis has already recorded countless split-albums has Spermbloodshit made only four split-albums. While Spermbloodshit from Italy is formed in 2007 is Pulmonary Fibrosis from France active since 1998. And the most important thing, Spermbloodshit is grindcore and Pulmonary Fibrosis is gorgrind. The only thing this bands has equal is, that they are 3 guys in its bands and that they are extreme in what they do and that they are together on this split. Actually, not good conditions to make a split together. But far from it. Firstly, this 7" is well suited for people who like both styles of music and/or second, this vinyl is well suited for make clear the differences between this both styles of music. But before, some words about the sound.

The sound of both bands is really good. Very well recorded and mixed, with incredible pressure it blaring from the speakers. Everything is heard, guitar, voc and drums. OK, when Pulmonary Fibrosis play fast grindparts, then the snare is too gentle. But that was excused. Everything fine so far. A good 7" when you hear the songs of your favorite band  individually without hearing the other band direct before or after you heard your favorite band. The disaster begins when you just hear the other songs before or after. Then you realize that no one has given effort to this split the exception of the musicians before. Because the sound don t fit. The sounds are not revised and made to fit. Not even the volumes were adjusted. The split is simply been glued together and this is very sad. In this way, everyone can throw a split on the market. Either the split should just bring only money or, and then it would be ok at least in the approach, it is an attempt to expand in the other camps mutually.

Examined it from you. In both cases, the 7" was not made for you at first as a fan. Very well. What I now noticed as I heard the split. First band is Pulmonary Fibrosis. Two cool songs. My first impression was, that thsee songs are really cool goregrind-songs. Not so boring as so many other gorebands and songs. Very bassy and pretty fast. So I like it. After these two from Pulmonary Fibrosis follow three songs from Spermbloodshit and I thought, wow, that's the reason why I love grindcore and not goregrind. Very fast, very strict direct in your face. Perfect sound, also the snare during the grind-parts. And so was my second impression that it was not good for Pulmonary Fibrosis to be part of this split because compared to Spermbloodshit is Pulmonary Fibrosis just Spermbloodshit. But the three songs from Spermbloodshit do not tear it out. Even if Spermbloodshit are usual awesome. I like this band so much, sorry. It remains a bland taste. Therefore, this split is only for people who want to show their goregrind-friends what grindcore is and can!

Because, nevertheless, of the cool work of both bands, 4 stars. It could be five, but this needs more effort from the producer or so.
