Reptilium - Adrenochromacy

Second EP of four self-produced tracks for this band from South America and more precisely from Ecuador. "Adrenochromacy" follows the other EP "Conspiranoic" released in 2019 after one year. The strange thing is that I never expected, listening to all the tracks for the first time, that Reptilium came from overseas. Everything sounds so damned European that I was pleasantly surprised by this thing.

"Adrenochromacy" is a truly amazing EP from all points of view, perhaps better than so much material that some underground labels continue to offer us monthly. Despite the short duration (about 15 minutes for this work) Reptilium manage to concentrate all their skill and aggression in this EP. Brutal death metal, references to parts so dear to the Slam brutal death, growls and screams that blend well in the construction of the structure of each single song.

The opener 'Le Grand Animal De Maastricht' is a concentration of sonic violence that I haven't felt for a long time. Very deep voice that alternates with passages in screams, slow and heavy times, telluric rhythmic section ... what more could you want?

'New Deadly Bastard' is much more reasoned but not lighter. Here too the most slam / brutal parts join the more "core" ones ... so dear to Carnifex, The Black Dahlia Murder and other bands like them.

'Refusing The Hidden Truth' starts immediately at full speed to keep in its whirling gait as many listeners as possible. Song with some references to syncopated times so dear to the best known Meshuggah... really something unique.

'Massive Abduction' closes this new Reptilium job, a job that left me really pleasantly surprised. Excellent distribution of the parts, excellent songwriting and excellent production.

I hope to hear from them again under a good label and hope that the kids can make themselves known to as many people as possible. Check out this EP and you won't regret it. Highly recommended. Great album and good luck for the future.
