Sacrifice - The Ones I Condemn
After a long absence the legendary Canadian thrashers Sacrifice are back with a great comeback album entitled "The Ones I Condemn". They were one of the best Canadian thrash bands of the 80's during which time they released three albums. The band didn't reach the height they wished for and after touring in North America in 1994 they broke up.
Now back with their original line up, their new album will not disappoint. Rob Urbinati's vocals are as harsh and vicious as ever. The evil dark lyrics coupled with the speed and lighting fast guitar riffs is nothing short of pure mind blowing thrash. Gus Pynn's drumming is excellent...fast, thunderous, and true to sound. There is nothing artificial about the sound of the drums or the album. It's just what thrash fans have been waiting for.
'Tetragrammaton' is the best representation of the band's talent. Heavy deep thrashing music yet melodic and hypnotizing at the same time. It's one of the slower songs on the album but one of the heaviest.
This may just be their best album yet. A great mix of their old sound with a new mature sound. The album is fast, heavy, and devastating. One of the best thrash metal releases this year. Horns up!
Rob Urbinati: guitar, vocals
Joe Rico: guitar
Scott Watts: bass
Gus Pynn: drums
Guest members: Jed Simon-Guitars on The Devil's Martyr
Dave Hewson-Vocals on The Devil's Martyr
