Skidt Hjerne/The Krushers - Munnizza/Reato Di Poverta

This split is definitely something out of my normal element. The closest I get to punk music is grindcore ala Napalm Death etc, so doing this review took me a while and a lot of thought. When you boil it down, and get past the fact that this might not be music you listen to all the time, this stuff is still pretty damn good. These guys play crazy fast, and energy that can’t be comprehended. On the first side of the split you have Skidt Hjerne who play this balls to the wall speed punk, with higher pitched guitars and screaming vocals. On the second side of the split you have The Krushers who have a lower tuned almost thrash feel punk. It’s still fast, but quite slow in comparison to Skidt Hjerne. As more of a fan of death metal and thrash, I found myself liking The Krushers better, but that does not discredit Skidt Hjerne at all. I would say if you are looking for something different and dare to live outside the box, give this split a spin, you might like it.
