Sotajumala - Teloitus
Sotajumala (Wargod in English) is a Finnish death metal band formed in 1998. Their debut album "Death Metal Finland" was released in 2004 and so after 3 years their follow up is ready. "Teloitus" deals with Finnish war history and fictive stories from war altogether. They can easily say so as their lyrics are written in their native language. But when you listen to the album it fits the songs and maybe you hea some word you can sing a long with.
The style of Sotajumala is ripping death metal in a range from mid to up tempo rhythms but they don't want to break the BPM record. Double bass drum is prominent there and also the deep growls. When composing the songs they knew that there should be melody and groove in the songs. And so you got it as you would be quick enough to play airguitar with it. But when the 2 guitarists squize out the solos you are jawdropping. Man are those leads great, fucking love them.
"Teloitus" is a nice piece of handcrafted art that keeps you glued to your headphones.
