Spaceshiters - Grinding Dance From Outa Space
Yeah, that's the way. Don't do a cover of the song "Rawhide" instead just be "influenced" by it it for a little while as are the Spaceshiters in the third track, "Ride My Horse," and it's all about how creative and fun you are instead of what a cheesy clown act!
A little like GUT with drum machines. They've got the grunts and gurgles and overall death metal feel, think if the band Ween from the U.S. were a little more on the metal side. This band could be considered porn-grind like GUT if there songs were pertaining to particularly perverted subject matter, as I guess a couple of titles would suggest, but I don't know what they are singing about for the most part, so I would just classify tem as "noise-grind."
There is not much info out there on these guys, other than they are listed in the Razorback Records catalog with bands such as Ghoul, Gruesome Stuff Relish, and Splatterhouse, and they have one prior release., "Arena." They do seem to have fun in making this recording and that is something that is contagious as it is also fun to listen to.
So what are the stand-out tracks, you say? Glad you asked. "Ride My Horse," "Dooming Maggots," and "Green Card For All" are good. "3,5 Tons Of Putrid People" sounds like Crowbar on acid -- oh wait, Crowbar was on acid already to begin with -- well if Crowbar were a couple of German cybergeeks instead, they would sound like this. The final track, "United States Or World" sounds like a visit to Disneyland on acid only the trip goes terribly bad at the end.
"Nice Ass But Not Fat" is a charming up-tempo number which would suggest the sexual preference of these fellows, and "The Horny Asshole," sounds like the guy who is the last to leave the bar only he is on nitrous oxide or something to account for his loony-tunes manner of speaking.
"Let's Kill A Nazi Scum," would tend to suggest the Spaceshiters' politics are a little more liberal than German right-wing skinhead types would be pleased to hear. "Underwater Love Song," is rather inventive and "Nasty Feeling" sounds like it has the potential for mainstream appeal but too short! Yes, there are 26 tracks on this and most are under two minutes, so if you don't like one of them, you won't be bored for long. In short, this is a fun metal release that is definitely worth spending a little time to check it out.
