Suffocation - Suffocation

If one considers the standing legacy that SUFFOCATION have meant to the development of death-grind metal, surely there is no album that welcomes back the SUFFO sound as this aptly titled Suffocation, the best caboodle of all that is SUFFOCATION since the much acclaimed Effigy of the Forgotten.
With so infinite hits to have their website sometimes down due to bandwidth serving, the hunger from the fans and the talk of the town about the New Yorkers has never had such a living testament.

How come? Riffs so precise yet twisted enough not to sound mathematical, rhythm breaks so unpredictable yet captivating enough to make them welcoming, tempo-interchanging so natural that it does not sound over-planned, is only part of the fortes of this 7th SUFFOCATION release. The other facet being the guitar solos & guttural voice that manage to capture such a refreshing stance over all these years to make Suffocation come by as the natural consequent to Effigy….

I say this as I am one of those who simply felt SUFFO was getting so lost experimenting with a winning formula, that it was starting to stagnate back on themselves. Yet this time I was convinced and I must say that finally SUFFOCATION delivered Suffocation!!! And I thank them for that.
