Sun.Has.Cancer - Burn!
Burn baby burn, as these Czech mongers give us a taste of this evergrowing electro-metal sound!!!! Plenty of jungle and breakbeat stuff meeting the soundscapes of Canadian old schoolers STACCADO when it gets heavy in the vocals and guitar department, plenty of good stuff that may easily go down well at metal gigs, at industrial events and at drum n bass or jungle squat parties alike, this 9-tracker is full of energy all the way through.
In fact, it is hard to nail SUN HAS CANCER’s sound and if it is more electro than metal or vice-versa. Lots of different rhythms to trance out to, yet unlike many bands, pre-programming makes way to an actual drummer (for the human feel) playing on electronic drums (to still retain a mechanical feel). This compliments quite subtly to the down-tuned guitar riffs, interludes, and double-stops that give the music the furor or breaks necessary as at when a sample needs to break through. And to all becoming suspicious about the originality of this lot, no it does not at any time sound like FEAR FACTORY, but surely as a very own distinct SUN HAS CANCER!!!! In detail, there are plenty of banging metal riffs all the way through, yet although well up in the mix, they still seem to be a compliment to the many different samples and breakbeats which at times borrow from THE PRODIGY or THE ELECTRIC HELLFIRE CLUB, yet under control to keep it distinctively SUN HAS CANCER.
