Testament - LIVE
date: Sunday, May 10, 2009
venue: The Rock, Maplewood, Minnesota, USA
Currently trekking their way across North America is none other than Bay Area Thrash titans Testament. Finally doing a full tour to support their latest release “The Formation of Damnation,” the heavy metal pioneers hit Minnesota.
After the opening acts started the night off, the veteran thrashers hit the stage. Even after many years and many tours, these guys still are full of energy, and put 100% into every show. Not only do they put tons of effort into their live shows, they have tons of songs to choose from, and always make room for the old favorites. For this tour, they have allowed fans to choose between three different possible sets, including playing The New Order album completely and then playing a few more “best of” songs. Sunday night’s set was the “Best of the best” option where they played songs spanning the entire catalog.
The energy from the band was intense with Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson playing dueling leads. Chuck Billy of course had his signature mic stand guitar and jammed away throughout the night. Testament always delivers a great live show, make sure you check them out before the tour ends.
Testament’s set list was as follows:
The Preacher
Practice What you Preach
The New Order
Alone in The Dark
More Than Meets The Eye
The Persecuted Won’t Forget
Demonic
True Believer
The Legacy
Into The Pit
Souls of Black
Electric Crown
Disciples of The Watch
Do Not Resuscitate (D.N.R)
3 Days in Darkness
The Formation of Damnation
