The Black Stymphalian - Kaos Sigma
The Black Stymphalian was created in late 2006 by Jaymz as a solo project to express and explore his diverse tastes in music. This ranged from Thrash, progressive to industrial Style sounds. 2010 saw the release of the debut E.P, “Digression” which featured 5 different vocalists from all over the world, ranging from Middlesbrough UK to Geelong Australia. Each singer brought their own unique style to each song. In July 2010 Jaymz won first place in the "Shred like Loomis" contest which was organised by Century Media records and was hand-picked by Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) to receive his signature Schecter model! The "Digression" EP is now available to buy from all the popular digital distributors such as iTunes, Amazon etc. Along with the Big Cartel on line store where you can purchase the physical CD!”
After listening to the Kaos Sigma E.P it has peeked my interest to explore further the earlier E.P “The Digression” released in 2010 – could it be just as potent as Kaos Sigma? I have no doubt in my mind and that is before hearing it.
Chaoskampf
Bristling with an intense passion that is truly exciting and literally smothers the ears with soaked adrenalin that gives you a jolt to the groin! Totally rugged and tantalising with harmonic qualities and stupendous throaty extravagance it is a bruising of total mayhem! The riffs are far reaching and offer some tumultuous melodies. Thoroughly blistering on all accounts!
Martyr No More
This track opens with a thunderous roar a bit akin to a hungry lion on the prowl! Scorches with a ravenous flame and will turn the aural to a pile of hot molten ash within seconds of listening! Definitely a thrilling encounter again boasting a harmonic content with outstanding scathing and impressive throaty roars. The drums are a tirade of extreme power and rampage feverishly in the ensuing melee.
Rules Of Engagement
Another irresistible conquest that is drenched in aggression and has that certain magnetic pull that lures you into their grooves and tempestuous rhythms. The bass hooks lick the audial canal with a caustic tongue and ignite fiery ferocious riffs while ample beats pour down in a frenzied state of perpetual motion.

March Of The Blackened Christ
This track is more of a series of dark rhythm and ambient bleating’s until it manifests into an evil terrain of malevolence! The backlash of the wondrous sound pour out of the speakers like an open gaping wound and festers with an essence of sheer poison. Definitely a caustic presence is felt and will leave the listener transfixed as it parades around in a constant state of explosive madness.
The Awakening
The battering ram is out and is in full force as the damming beats dominate with a flirtatious extravagance. It is a loud and proud track that never loosens its ever tightening grip on the senses. Hard hitting and voracious it sows its seeds of evil within each and every rhythm it creates and is more than drenched in enticingly rich hues and malignant swipes that are definitely hell bound!

Just one amazing E.P from start to finish. It is rich in vibrant rhythms that excite and tantalise so much so you will never be the same again after listening and no doubt will leave you with a hangover as the E.P finishes, so you will want more of the same, inviting you to get that finger on the pulse or indeed the replay button to keep that ‘high as a kite’ feeling alive within your body. Totally mesmerising and outlandish it certainly gets the blood pressure raised as it unleashes its fiery content straight to the aural cavities and there is no mistaking that hit when it does!
