The More I See - The Disappearing Humans

This is a UK band that features and was formed by Graham ‘Gizz’ Butt, some of you may know him from his work with The English Dogs, The Prodigy and more recently he played bass with UK thrash titans Sabbat. This is the bands fourth full album release and one which features a brand new line up. James Cluer has switched from bassist to lead vocals and guitars and this change is the remarkable feature of this release. Cluer’s tone and melody are simply great. You hear this and the thrash monster beginning to surface with ‘Rise Up and Start’. The guitar work by Gizz and Cluer is pretty damn fine, blistering up and down the fretboard with some riffs and precision yo never thought possible, but the album is a complete package, it’s not a release where individuals shine, all musicians play a key role. TMIS are not afraid to break the mould and try different feelings for their tracks, one such, ‘Still’, has much more emotion behind it and doesn’t really label itself as a thrash track; however the melody is really powerful.

If you wish for some inspirational lyrics then check out ‘Alone You Will Enter’ which has some good points and thought provoking comments to contend with giving the lyrical content substance. ‘Reversible’ and ‘Spirit of Freedom’ are two further tracks to highlight, again featuring a great sense mix of thrash and modern metal. ‘The Eye That Offends’ is a track that has a great promo video for all you Star Wars fans, as it was filmed in Tunisia on the Star Wars set. I have heard people talk about this band as being “modern metal”, Trivium comparisons have also come to pass, but I do feel that TMIS are much more than such labels, although listening to this track per se I can see why people have said such things.

Live on stage, this band are smoking hot and tight as a duck’s rear end, ‘The Disappearing Humans’ is a great step forward for this band and the new line up is very talented and play like real seasoned professionals. This album is laden with massive melodies, guitar riffs, energy and music beyond the realms of some bands that appear to be popular for this style of music of recent times. ‘The Disappearing Humans’ is an absolute stunning long playing release and a massive leap forward for the band.
