Totally Fucking Gay - Totally Fucking Gay
God understands if you like dick. And that's exactly what frontman of TFG Kneepad Nikki needs you to know when listening to their self titled album released earlier this year.
TFG seek a unique audience, but if you can find the humour in the music then you'll be hooked in no time. The album consists of twelve tracks of what I'd call electro cyber-pop. There's the occasionally distorted and dreary "metal" riff but it's hidden by the ignatius delightful keyboard bops, which essentially fuel the album's supreme structure. These tracks blend into one giant song, there's barely a gap between. Lyrically, this band are mesmerising. Unusual, but still, something works here and it's completely refreshing to hear. The vocals consist of a bland spoken-word type, and at times are rhymed. Occasionally the talkative vocals end in a calming wailing.
Exploring themes of gay porn, sexual rebellion, blowjobs, face-sitting, cock rings, ass-to-mouth, genital warts, & hugging. All of which are backed with some interesting song titles such as, 'Come Out Of The Closet (And Cum In My Ass)', 'Husband And Husband', 'It's Time To Gargle With Salty Semen', & 'Marathon Gay Sex For Manly Sex'.
The band's message is obviously clear and doesn't need to be addressed too much more here. By using explicit lyrical content, dodgy guitars and some desperately cheesy keyboards the band are able to execute a genre of music that I've probably never explored until now. It's something that isn't exactly for everyone's tastes, but who knows - maybe one day this style of genre could grow into something wildly big in the music world. I review TFG an above average score mainly because of their bravery, initiative, and originality as clearly this is new to me by all means, but sadly the album personally doesn't butter my bagel.
