Trifixion - When All Else Fails

Emerging from the United Kingdom, the dudes of Trifixion offer their very first sign of life. This promotional release was originally distributed as homemade CD-R´s at various shows.

“When All Else Fails” contains 3 songs with a total playing time of almost 13 minutes. Obviously inspired by such acts like Severed Saviour or Cannibal Corpse, these 4 musicians blast out an interesting cocktail of fast and technical skilled riffs as well as some crushing slower stuff to satisfy your need for non-commercial Death Metal. The pace is changed very often, but it seems to be no problem for the rhythm section to follow the ambitious guitar tunes. Quite the contrary - where some newer or younger bands fail, Trifixion´s drum and bass department seem to be a real unity and embellish the sometimes gruff impressions. The vocals are also varied, ranging from deep and guttural growls to a few higher screams which fits pretty good and repeatedly reminded me of George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse. So far so good, but a real point of criticism is the low volume on this recording. Ok, we´re talking about a self-financed promotional release and no one should expect a multi-million pound high-end production, so I guess it´s still all right. Just turn everything a little bit louder and enjoy Trifixions creations.

“When All Else Fails” is a nice little appetizer of things to come and the band recently signed to Pathologically Explicit Recordings to record an official debut album. A promising start for an interesting band.
