Trigger The Bloodshed - Degenerate

No earhole shall be spared with Trigger The Bloodshed's new album, Degenerate. This is just pure, brutal death metal at its finest. No strings attached and no annoying high pitched vocals. Just crush and roll with growling all the way! The band has been pretty successful for being together since 2006 and ever since their debut they've had a very urgent fanbase bugging them to crank out album after album. So far, they've failed to disappoint year after year. Degenerate takes the best of death metal and what Trigger does best and spits it forth with the intent of creating the nastiest of mosh pits.

Consider a track like "Hollow Prophecy." There's just no mercy in between the notes. The guitars buzz like an angry hornet nest and the drums are lost in the mix because it seems like Superman is beating them on overdrive. Only the vocals make it out on top with their gutteral growls and hate fueled lyrics. There's no melody really in any of the tracks, except in some of guitar solos such as on "Dead Vein." Basically this is just one big crushing monster. Trigger The Bloodshed seem less worried about technical aspects rather than making it seem like someone could blow their head off with the weight and velocity of this music, but it works well enough. "The Soulful Dead" has a catchy chug to it amongst the chaos with maybe a hint of rhythm throughout, but it is a rare gem in this mix. From the opener "A Vision Showing Nothing," expect a lot of relentless drums, wild riffs and solos, and of course, growls of Satan himself.

2010 seems to be a good year in brutal death metal. Fellow Metal Blade artists Brain Drill and Whitechapel fans will really enjoy Trigger's latest offering for the similarity in the unwillingness to compromise and the will to destroy every earhole available. However, a band that really matches up to Trigger's respectable music output is Deeds Of Flesh who have been silent for a few years. It's pretty cool for Trigger to be on the level that Deeds is as far as intense music and respect goes. And if they keep putting out this kind of quality music year after year without any problem, soon they'll be the kings of brutal death metal.
