Turbocharged - Christ Zero
Turbocharged unleash their first EP as a bit of a small concept album for listeners that is very anti-Christian. Scattered throughout the album are brief clips of spoken word sections that are as blasphemous as one could get, and even though they last barely a minute, add a nice bit of storytelling elements to the music rather than making the album an entire Thrash fest with little variation. As for the more music full side of the album, it is a mix of Death and Thrash Metal that will appeal to fans of older Susperia and even Testament due to its distorted sound and switching between cleaning singing and rather low key snarls. Instrumentally, the music is definitely Thrash/ Groove Metal based when considering a track like "G-Virus" and "In Heaven There Is No Hatred." One could easily compare the music to a group like Skinlab or even Sepultura with the way the vocals are performed at a mid paced bark over and over that ties into the mid pace of the music. Some tracks have excellent lead-ins that just suck listeners right in such as bass and drum combination on "The Atheist Impulse." Oddly enough, tracks like these that start off slow and grooving end up being one of the fastest on the album as the rest just blazes right through in more of Death/ Thrash style. Overall, the album will seem like it blew right by, but listeners will be left with at least five tracks of solid, hard hitting music that they can enjoy.[embed]https://www.youtube.com/embed/PhB3hoy0MBM[/embed]
