Vow - In The Blood

Dan & Heather from Pennsylvania USA are Vow and they are the most deadly of duos within the realms of black/death metal. With their 2009 release "In The Blood" Vow once again proves that you don't need a full line up to create awesome music.

This is the most versatile of the Vow albums to date and each track is very diverse and the tones, beats and rhythms are totally unpredictable. Sound quality is excellent and production once again is good. Alot of creative thought went into this one and the musicianship is tight and holds it's ground strong. I love the drum effects and over lap of the soloing. Creepy, haunted chaos is what you will find here .

The male vocals are simpley demonic in everyway (loved the female voice also especially on the forth track "Curing The Great Sickness" and on the 5th track "The Sheep Come Armed"), and the keyboards again create the darksome mood here. If you like or are open to experimental black/death metal with a touch of Viking meets grind (this is what I hear in some spots), then you will really like to get your hands on this one and let it take over your emotions and bring you into a realm where anything can happen at any given moment.

Again Vow has managed to impress me and "In The Blood" gets my humble rating of 4/5.
