Whore - Doing It For The Kids
From the past (2005) and USA comes this album of the serial killers-fuckers Whore, "Doing It For The Kids" re–released by Rotten Roll Rex and still as sick as the first released by Moribound Rec. Death metal with parts of grind, thrash, heavy, humour, depravity and what else insane thing you want. With members of Fornicator, Lord Gore, Engorged…
Maybe the first idea is that it is a parody band or a nonsense noise, but it is a serious band with explicit lyrics and a special sense of humour. Well we focus on music, and it is death metal, heavy and powerful, good songs, short and ahead to the target, and making as many injuries as possible. Bands that you can relay to are Carcass, Napalm Death, Mortician, you know, all the grind crew but with death metal base.
Guitars sound is hard with riffs that are a wall, combined with a bass sound also giving the support, and of course we have a brutal drumming, a massive killing machine, giving the intensity needed for this style. Voices are sick, like the lyrics. The general line is this, but we have two songs that are out of the line, 'Shoker' a heavy metal track with heavy clean voice, and we have to say that is a good song, a new and possible face of this band, the other is the last 'Pieces Of Her In My Shit'. The title says it all, but music is a strange piece, begins like all songs brutal and sick, and in a moment becomes a experimental compilation of phantasmagoric sounds, voices, like rare pieces of Cephalic Carnage. Also adding intros and samples of films, that is a good form to introduce the cake.
As a summary it is a good album, rare, maybe it was not the album of the year but yes a simple of how to play brutally and do not fall in noising songs playing sick. Maybe a lot of bands can learn with this album how to do brutal and variety.
